Dr. Affan Akhtar is a highly skilled and board-certified Foot & Ankle physician and surgeon who offers comprehensive care across multiple locations. With extensive experience in both medical and surgical treatments of foot and ankle conditions, Dr. Akhtar is known for his expertise in sports medicine, trauma, wound care, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and advanced surgical procedures in children and adults alike. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2000, he went on to earn his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2004. He then completed his rigorous residency training at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island, under the affiliation with Boston University School of Medicine. He has since completed a variety of specialized surgical courses, enhancing his expertise in advanced techniques such as Ankle Arthroscopy, External Fixation of Foot and Ankle, and Biologic Treatments in Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Akhtar is currently on the medical staff at Robert Wood Johnson/Rahway, Hudson Regional Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Healthcare System in Wayne and Paterson, treating patients with trauma to complex wound care needs.
